Pontoon boat fuel tank advisory

Update: please disregard; replacement tank has been installed (7/26/2011).

Now hear this:

The fuel supply fitting in the 12 gallon tank (port side) is broken. But, it is usable, as rigged.

There is a  replacement tank on the way. But we're headed out west (see below). So, the new tank won't be in place until after we get back.

In the meantime, we engaged a five-person team of Georgia Tech graduate mechanical engineers, known as The Combustibles (also see below), to come up with a solution. The solution may not be their finest work, but it works, at least for now. A complex arrangement of bungee-cords holds the fuel supply fitting snug to the tank, or at least it has so far.

Don't worry about it, but do give it the occasional glance as you're operating the boat, to see that everything remains snug and ship-shape.

That is all.
