Dicks Creek Falls |
Taylor and I visited Dicks Creek Falls in October, 2010. It is a short hike from Sandy Ford, where the road of that name crosses Dicks Creek, to the falls, where the creek drops into the Chattooga River.
From our cottage . . .
Go east on US-76, to US-441 in Clayton. Continue straight (east) across the highway onto Rickman Road for about half a mile, until it runs into Warwoman Road. Continue east on Warwoman for 5.3 miles, then turn south on Sandy Ford Road (partially paved, mostly gravel). Stay on Sandy Ford until it reaches a ford, about 3.7 miles. Stop here; the trail begins to the left of the road, and descends for about a mile to the Chattooga River. The falls is where the creek meets the river, to the right of the trail.
